Prayers for the Weary
Eyes That Still See
We gather again, weary but unbroken. The days are heavy, and the air feels thick with the weight of power unmoored from principle. Still, we light a candle—not in naïve hope, but in clear-eyed defiance of the dark.
Today we pray for those who are being shut out of the truth.
We pray for the members of Congress denied full briefings, kept in the dark as lives hang in the balance. We pray for transparency to pierce the shadows and for courage to rise in those who must hold the line.
We pray for the judges who dared to uphold the law and now find themselves targeted by the state. We see the danger in this moment—the chilling message it sends to every jurist who might stand in the way. May these judges find protection. May they feel the strength of a people who still believe in balance and justice.
We pray for those of us who are watching, tracking every shift, alert to every breach. May our hearts not harden, even as we brace ourselves. May our vigilance not give way to numbness. And may our refusal to look away be its own form of resistance.
Let this prayer be a reminder that clarity is a calling. Even when truth is obscured, even when fear knocks at the door—we stay awake. We stay alert. We stay faithful to the vision of a democracy not yet fully realized.
And to the weary: your fatigue is not failure. It’s evidence that your conscience still works.
Stay lit.
