Prayer for the People
For those silenced, excluded, or pushed to the edge.
God of truth,
We bring before You the bruised and the brave—
the students left stranded,
the teachers punished for thinking freely,
the voices on the airwaves going quiet,
the refugees caught in legal shadows with no place to plead their case.
Hold them close.
Strengthen the ones holding the line.
Give courage to the international student with a packed bag and no interview.
To the professor facing retribution.
To the journalist watching funding dry up for telling the truth.
To the immigrant family praying for mercy that may never come.
And strengthen us.
Not with comfort, but with conviction.
Not with ease, but with endurance.
Not with empty hope, but with fire to protect what matters.
Let us be the ones who do not look away.
Let us be the ones who keep showing up.
Let us be the ones who remember that silence is complicity
and that resistance is sacred.
Amen.
Use this prayer in quiet moments, in group gatherings, in worship, or wherever words are failing.
